SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA said on June 22 that it has introduced Halos for Robotics, a full-stack safety system designed to bring AI compute, safety software, sensor data, safety applications and inspection into one standardized architecture for robots and other physical AI systems.
The company said the platform combines NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for compute and sensor connectivity, NVIDIA Halos OS for software safety functions, and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification preparation.
NVIDIA said the system is built on more than 18,600 engineering years of autonomous-vehicle safety development. The company also said the architecture is meant to support third-party certification work with groups including TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX.
NVIDIA said the inspection lab is accredited by ANAB, the ANSI National Accreditation Board, and is intended to help partners prepare for functional and AI safety reviews for physical AI systems.
The announcement adds to NVIDIA’s robotics push as companies look for ways to standardize safety across humanoid and other autonomous machines.
